Governor Markell's Statement on the Passing of Littleton P. Mitchell

WILMINGTON -- Gov. Jack Markell issued the following statement Monday upon learning of the passing of civil rights advocate Littleton P. Mitchell, who was a Tuskegee airman and long-time president of the Delaware NAACP:

"Lit Mitchell was my hero. He's one of the finest people I have ever known," Markell said. "Delaware loses so much with his passing. We gained more than we could ever know from his life."
