Markell Orders Flags Lowered in Remembrance of September 11, 2001 Victims
WILMINGTON – Gov. Jack Markell announced that he has ordered Delaware flags to fly at half-staff on Friday in honor of the victims of the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks.
“On this national day of service and remembrance, we honor the memories of those we lost in the tragic events of September 11th, 2001. We remember their families and loved ones whose lives were changed forever on that horrific day. We remember the courage and selfless sacrifice of the first-responders and other Americans who came together to help out in any way that they could. We honor the men and women of our Armed Forces who continue to protect our nation.”
President Barack Obama has ordered that United States flags fly at half-staff.
