December 20, 2009 Markell: State of Emergency will be Lifted at Noon Still Urges Caution on RoadsWilmington, DE - Governor Jack Markell today said that the State of Emergency that had been in effect for New Castle and Kent Counties will be lifted at noon. However, motorists should still use considerable caution when leaving their homes and travelling the roads. "Most highways and main roads have been plowed and are drivable, but many secondary and back roads and subdivision streets still have a foot of snow on them. Lifting the state of emergency does not lift the need for considerable caution if you need to leave the house," Markell said. No decision has been made on the status of state government being open Monday. |
